Circle route

Free bus transport from Kranjska Gora and surrounding area to Planica will be available to all the visitors. We advise you not to go to Planica by car. Buses have priority in arriving to and departing from Planica!

Buses with a height of more than 385 cm will not be able to park in Planica!

From different parking spaces you can also walk to the valley of world champions. Map of the walking paths.

Parking

Visitors coming to Planica with their own vehicles will be directed to parking areas by the organizer's signs and instructions from marshals. Parking in Kranjska Gora is possible in public paid parking areas unless otherwise indicated by the organizer's signs.

Parking outside of designated parking areas, especially on or along the road, will be strictly penalized by the police and municipal enforcement officers.

The VIP and MEDIA parking area is located in Kranjska Gora near the police station.

Entry points for visitors:

  • Kranjska Gora: main bus station; by the police station Kranjska Gora 
  • Podkoren: regular bus stop on the regional road
  • Rateče: intersection Ledine
  • and in addition in exceptional cases: parking lot Zelenci; Petrol gas station Rateče (in the case of redirection of parking on nearby surfaces)

Train to Planica - easy in affordable

At the finale of the 45th FIS World Cup in ski jumping and flying in Planica on March 21st 2024, you can travel to the most beautiful valley in the world any day with combined train and bus transport.

In collaboration with Slovenian Railways, we will again offer the opportunity to travel to Planica for the FIS World Cup finale in ski jumping and flying by train and from Jesenice onwards by bus, tied to the train schedule (link).

We have also prepared a special benefit for all ticket holders to watch the Planica competitions - you can travel to Planica from any railway station in Slovenia to Jesenice and back by train for free. All you need to do for a worry-free journey is to present your ticket for the Planica FIS World Cup finale in ski jumping 2024 at the passenger ticket office or, if it is closed at your boarding station, directly on the train.

Transport and traffic in Kranjska Gora and surroundings

All travelers with caravans will be redirected from Kranjska Gora to Camp Špik in Gozd Martuljek. Buses will be available from Camp Špik in Gozd Martuljek.

Entering the event site

During the competition Planica area represents a wider event space. Retention in one spot and watching the competition is only allowed when possessing a ticket or any other basis that allows access to the control area.

Since we wish to prevent congestion at the entrances and ensure that visitors reach the event site as fast as possible, entry will take place in these steps:

1. Ticket control will be performed at the outer entrances.

2. This will be followed by entering the control area.

  • Visitors with baggage will be directed to entrances for inspection
  • Visitors without baggage will be directed to separate entrances

> Friday, 22. 3. – 10.00 to 2h after the end of competiton
> Saturday, 23. 3. – 5.30 to 3h after the end of competiton
> Sunday, 24. 3. – 6.00 to 2h after the end of competiton

> Entry-control points open practically simultaneously or with a 15-minute delay
> Food/drink offer ends one hour before the event site closes.

 

For faster entry:

> Have as little baggage as possible.
> If you arrive in a smaller group only one person from the group should carry baggage.
> After arriving to entry points don’t stay there for a long time, enter the event site as soon as possible.
> Have your tickets ready.
> Actively participate in baggage inspection – show the contents to security personnel.

Notice on the use of food preparation appliances

Burning and use of open flames and all types of grills is strictly prohibited.

Tables, chairs, sunbeds and similar objects are not allowed to be set up due to the passage of emergency vehicles.
