Tjaša Kolenc Filipčič, Executive Director for Marketing, Corporate Communications, and Customer Experience at Zavarovalnica Triglav
At Triglav, we have been a proud partner of Planica for almost six decades, and since 1979, through the Children of Triglav project, we have enabled more than 117,000 children and their companions from all over Slovenia to experience this exceptional sporting spectacle. This year, more than 4,000 children will visit the valley beneath the Ponce mountains.
This year’s Planica is also accompanied by a refreshed version of the legendary TV commercial that has announced the event for 23 years—the boy jumping from a table onto a bed has been replaced by a girl. This reflects an important milestone: for the first time, women will also compete on the Planica flying hill, reinforcing our message that everyone deserves to “fly their dreams.”
We believe this year’s sporting celebration in Planica will once again be victorious and unforgettable.
Aleš Petejan, Marketing Director at Mastercard Slovenia
We are proud to be part of this distinguished group. Planica is our most important activity of the year—a truly iconic event for Slovenians. Our international business partners also love coming here.
Planica represents technological development and the evolution of an exclusive event we’ve been building together with the organizers for years. This year, we will again ensure comfort for visitors with disabilities so they can enjoy the longest flights.
Planica is also a blend of sport and business, hosting more than 400 business partners. This year’s guests include former Formula 1 driver David Coulthard, Slovenian basketball legend Goran Dragić, and legendary coach Željko Obradović.
Peter Prevc, President of the Planica Organizing Committee
Planica is no longer just a sporting event—it has become a symbol of tradition, innovation, and strong values, and one of the most recognizable sports venues in the world.
For ski jumpers, Planica represents the pinnacle of the season, and this year it will also be a peak moment for women. New memories, events, and perhaps records will be created.
Planica brings everyone together—fans, athletes, journalists. With pride, we share this story with the world and show what we are capable of. I invite all fans to come and witness a historic moment—because in 10 years, not everyone will be able to say they were there when Slovenia won two large crystal globes.
A heartfelt thank you to all volunteers, sponsors, fans, the local community, the army, police, and media—without all of you, Planica would not be Planica.
Uroš Zupan, Director of the Slovenian Ski Association
Planica is our biggest sporting event, both nationally and internationally. It is the result of collective effort.
We are especially focused on bringing children to Planica and inspiring them through winter sports. Our Heroes of Winter campaign includes everyone who watches, participates, or follows Planica.
The association has secured events through 2034 with FIS, enabling long-term development and sustainability.
Tickets for 2027 will already be on pre-sale during this year’s event at a symbolic price of €25.45—a number referencing the famous 254.5-meter jump distance.
Tomaž Šušteršič, Secretary General of OC Planica
Planning for Planica begins 12 months in advance. The infrastructure is fully set up, with space for nearly 30,000 visitors. Ticket sales are excellent, attracting fans from 25 countries.
The event also promotes Slovenian culture, economy, and tourism, with numerous business and entertainment programs.
Music highlights include:
-
Thursday: Nika Zorjan and Masayah
-
Friday: Vlado Kreslin and Firbci
-
Saturday: Siddharta, Elevators, and Lea Sirk
-
Sunday: Sašo Avsenik Ensemble (family day)
Planica continues to focus strongly on sustainability, following 46 measurable criteria and helping set standards for international events.

Sašo Komovec, Head of the Women’s World Cup Event
Preparations are in full swing. Interestingly, there is even too much snow this year, which we are redistributing.
We use a model to calculate exactly how much snow will melt before the competition.
Saturday’s women’s event will be something special—we are also hoping for a world record.
Marjan Jakše, Head of Security
Safety is a top priority. With security staff, police, firefighters, and medical teams, we aim to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors.
Thursday, dedicated to children, will be alcohol-free. Strict checks will prevent prohibited items and intoxicated individuals from entering.
Visitors are advised to dress appropriately for winter conditions and follow all safety instructions.
Jure Ajdišek, Head of Logistics
Visitors are encouraged to arrive calmly and preferably use organized transport such as trains or buses.
Special traffic arrangements will be in place, with parking in Planica and nearby areas like Rateče, Podkoren, and Kranjska Gora.
Free train and bus transport will be available for ticket holders. Shuttle services and walking paths are also encouraged to support sustainability.

Luka Vrančič, Director of Tourism Kranjska Gora
Local residents are heavily involved in organizing Planica. Accommodation has been fully booked for months.
Additional evening events include concerts and public gatherings, such as a draw event and performances in Kranjska Gora.
A special Polish fan event will also take place in honor of ski jumper Kamil Stoch.
Gorazd Pogorelčnik, Head of Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined
The season has been long but successful. Planica will be its fourth major highlight.
Top Slovenian athletes, including Domen Prevc, Anže Lanišek, and Timi Zajc, will compete, along with female jumpers Nika Prevc and Nika Vodan.
Planica is one of the most demanding flying hills—once women succeed here, they can compete anywhere. This marks a historic milestone for women’s ski jumping.
Cene Prevc, Ambassador of Planica
I first visited Planica as a child in 2005, and it became my second home. For many athletes, it represents the ultimate season finale and a place to achieve personal bests.
The atmosphere, especially seeing thousands of fans at the landing area, is unforgettable.
This year is truly special—you wouldn’t want to miss it. Who knows when we’ll again witness such achievements as two Slovenians winning the big crystal globe.
See you in Planica—where records are set and history is made!
